When the Chief pilot is a history buff and students, particularly those from Europe, kept asking for training fights that go beyond the local airport hopping of most flight schools an epiphany occurred.

During the bicentennial of the Lewis & Clark Expedition Bill Lewis and partner Kathy decided to explore the Nez Perce and Lewis & Clark trails, finding local transport and lodging along the way.

Somewhere in Montana they decided to build a Flight school that would train pilots by taking them “venturing along the trails of our history.” Bill decided that the perfect aircraft for such ventures as well as flying for business would be the Cirrus.

They quickly realized that there are a wealth of shorter trips out of PDX that could add interest to learning to fly and provide pilots in training with day and weekend trips to take with family and friends when they got their license.

Wing Ventures, The Cirrus Experience in Portland, is the result.
